Version 0.2 request window.

Post by MarathonMan » Mon Feb 24, 2014 10:57 am

CEN64 will be tagged as version 0.2 within the next week or so.

Before I tag it, are these any suggestions/recommendations out there? I'll be committing a patch tonight to help reduce some emulation freeze issues (hopefully), as well as reverting the RDP bug that caused alpha issues in games like Doom 64. I don't really have any plans for things other than that, though.

BTW: Just pushed a truckload of RSP patches last night. They're all performance optimizations.

Doesn't look like anything was done with this:

I've added an updated patch. Not a big issue, but it's kind of a nuisance to patch and recompile to use an N64 controller.

Sorry, must have missed that somehow; I'll add it in tonight.

The pipeline bug that I thought was occurring due to caching-code was... not due to caching code. :P I'm not sure what's causing it.

How much hard is implementing FLA ( that is needed for Majora's Mask and Pokèmon Snap to work correctly) and mempak save system? Are they be doable before CEN64 0.2 being released?
OS: Debian GNU/Linux Jessie (8.0)
CPU: Intel i7 4770K @ 3.5 GHz
Build: AVX (compiled from git)

I haven't been able to find the 'freeze' bug that occurs still, so this window will probably stay open until I do.

I have no intentions of working on any new features before tagging 0.2.

Could you give some more details about this 'freeze' bug and what starts it / what games does it occur in?

SPLiT's Nachos demo is usually my goto test ROM as to whether or not it's going to freeze. I have a couple other save files that I check from OoT, here: http://cen64.com/viewtopic.php?f=9&t=14&start=10

I guess there's not a whole lot to say about it other than it's a bug where emulation just... stops working. It looks like the RCP hangs up and stops firing interrupts, and the VR4300 is waiting on it/for something.

Heh, so I might just tag the current release as v0.2 and leave things as they are.

gcc-4.9 seems to have boosted speed a good deal on the Haswell microarchitecture (haven't tested others). I'll try to get builds out soon.
