Re: .v64 and .n64 compatibility

...at which point one could do like byuu did and offer some kind of "sanitizer" tool to "fix" a folder full of roms in one go. Or just point people to ucon64.

Been a month, so let's give this a little bump... I hope you'll eventually find a bit of time to cook something up, MM.

Oh so having a higher post count e-penis makes you be less of topic. Got it.

Re: Debugger incoming!

It's not Chrome, I use it too and don't see the issue, and it's been established he's on FF.
I'd say ignore it for now, at least until a second person with the same problem comes along. Then continue this discussion in a new thread.

Re: Debugger incoming!

Just a heads up, but I had to explicitly refresh the front page to see the new download link. I also had to do this when the downloads were first introduced. Must be on your end (unless it got fixed recently because of your post), the headers regarding caching seem to be set correctly. Corporate pr...

Re: New core starting to come together!

Does having only a single version mean Qt (see debugger announcement) will be a hard dependency? (I sure hope not...)

...oh and before someone goes "I'll just look at the file contents instead to find the format" now - that can be surprisingly hard too. There was an entertaining talk about that at 31c3.

Re: Tiny rant on N64 file formats

24 mutations? Dang. Do any of the copiers actually produce anything besides big- and little endian when dumping, or did someone go out of their way to f*ck things up extra throughly? edit: assuming they dump the same format they read, the V64 produces interlaved (2143), the Z64 big endian (1234). So...

Re: Tiny rant on N64 file formats

lol, Windows users and their reliance on magic characters at the end of the filename... "rename that tee-eggs-tee to vee-bee-ess and suddanly yuo CAN RUN IT zomgwtfbbq"

I'm just glad N64 copiers didn't keep on adding random headers to everything like the SNES ones did.

Re: New core starting to come together!

I had edited my earlier post without noticing you had answered in the meantime - it is now working for me. Must've been one of the very recent commits that fixed it. My guess would be that's Nintendo Maniac 64's problem too, I just pulled a bit later than him so I didn't get a full blown crash.

1561c75d11cedf356a8ddb1a4a5f9d5d Pokemon Stadium 2 (U) [!].z64 That's the one I'm using. cen64 was pulled from git two days ago, built for x86_64 with gcc-4.8.4, with SSE2, SSE3, SSE4.1 and AVX extensions. Maybe I'm just not waiting long enough (doubt it though, been waiting for a few minutes) - ho...

FWIW, MM is working for me, but PS2 just seems to stay on the N64 logo screen indefinitely.

Re: Cen64 NTSC/PAL support.

Oh I see, so you'd just have to take care where to put things? I'd have though that the menu running first, then soft-resetting the CPU to switch to the game would've maybe left everything in an inconvenient state (PIF already inaccessible). Either way, not a problem - I'll keep in mind not to use t...

Both, but I guess the menu mode is of no interest - probably even counterproductive - in this case.

Re: Cen64 NTSC/PAL support.

If you're about to whip up some code, just pretend you have an EEPROM or SRAM and copy whatever's interesting there; and/or print to screen. Actually, maybe do both just to be on the safe side, I'll make sure to also take some photos then. The Z64 uses a boot/host cart, which it reads the save data ...

Re: Cen64 NTSC/PAL support.

Is there a ready-to-go rom available to dump the PIF? I wouldn't mind taking a shot at this, and have NTSC(-J, not that that matters) and PAL N64s (so there wouldn't be any legal issues with me comparing both PIFs) as well as a Z64 to run stuff off of.

Re: Worried abou Byuu.

byuu collaborating? Unlikely. Knowledge transfer might work, but that guy has such a bad case of NIH, he'd rewrite every line of code a second person contributed. That's a big part of what got him into his current situation, too, I believe. Anyways, I hope he manages to find a healthy balance for hi...

Re: New core/version 0.3

Ah, that's the fun part of public repo access (as opposed to occasional tarball drops) - they're a (sometimes extremely fast-)moving target. What works today might not work tomorrow. Or the other way round - update your source tree, maybe it's been fixed already. Anyway, in case it isn't: ./arch/x86...

Re: New core/version 0.3

I have added partial support for ARM (some ROMs run). Nice, but I don't even want to know how many FPS (here: frames per semester) you're getting. (Moore's law FTW though.) Btw, hardware acceleration is nice and all, but is there a "clean", arch agnostic code path too, or is that somewhere towards ...
